There will be two parent information sessions on enVision Math today:
4:00-6:00 p.m.
7:00-9:00 p.m.
Both sessions will take place at the Ed Center, third floor, and will include a presentation on the books, materials and program, a chance to look at the materials, and questions-and-answers with one of the textbook's authors.
No need to RSVP or sign up -- just show up if you want to get first-hand information about how math will be taught in our elementary schools beginning in the Fall.
I understand there will also be "math nights" at individual schools in the Fall.
Welcome!

Thanks Laurie, I will try to be there.
However this is the first time I hear about it. I just checked the RPS website and I did not find this information there or on the elementary school sites.
So, do not be surprise if very few people will make it. It seems it has not been well advertised.
Actually the enVision math sessions were yesterday! (I posted that message yesterday morning.) I was at the afternoon session and there were a few people -- I haven't heard yet how many people were at the evening session.
Individual schools will hold Math Nights in the Fall to give parents a chance to explore and learn about what their childrn will be doing in math for the year, so even if you missed yesterday's sessions, you'll have another chance (and it may even be better since it will be at your own school with your own teachers).
Sorry for any confusion on the sessions yesterday.
