You would have been better off sitting at the Daily Treat or on a local sports sideline listening to residents discuss their concerns and hopes for Ridgewood's schools. Think bottom up; not top down.

I do know how to tap into the concerns and hopes of our community for Ridgewood's schools. The purpose of last night's meeting, though, was very specifically to have the new Commissioner of Education and various legislators inform us about what kind of decisions are coming from Trenton to affect our schools. There were some specific questions asked of them and they just gave back typical political doublespeak. It was just a little disappointing.

Don't you think that Brett Schundler is kind of batting in the top of the first? It is, after all, a nine inning game.

Laurie said...

Sure it's a nine inning game, but in terms of the 2010-11 budget, we're in the top of the 9th. Just because Schundler was brought in off the bench at this point in the game, doesn't change the sense of urgency and fatigue felt by those of us who have been playing all along.

That's enough of the baseball analogy, hahaha!

Brett Schundler thinks he's trying to score a touchdown in this baseball game.

Were there any angry tea baggers trying to shut down the public meeting, the way they tried to shut down health care public meetings last summer?

I'm wondering if angry tea baggers try to stifle *all* public discussion, or only public discussion that they deem politically incorrect.

Give it a rest with the "tea-bagger" label, it only shows your intolerance to ordinary citizens who are feed up with, "politics as usual."

fed up, or feed up as you put it...

all we hear about is your anger, your resentment, your unhappiness

guess what? the other 98% of the country doesn't give a hoot about your personal problems.

Is 9:41 already running away from the name "tea bagger"? I thought that was the cool, edgy, Ayn Rand-loving crowd within the lunatic fringe.

10:36, do you know what the term "tea-bagger" means? It's a really nasty slur, that frankly doesn't belong on any blog discussing schools or the children within them. Why don't you knock it off, and discuss the issues based on the merits.

Play nice. Less name-calling, please. Thanks.
